Description:
The Vidal icewine is amber gold in the glass with pungent aromas of mango, peach with a touch of barley sugar. It tastes voluptuous on the palate, with sweet, pronounced flavours of papaya, nectarine surrounded by searing acidity. This fantastic wine is silky and built to last, with a smooth finishing with a touch of ginger.
Winery:
Ziraldo
Ziraldo is located in the Niagara Peninsula, where its unique climate provides the ideal conditions to ripen the fruit, and results in the fine wine which is often called “liquid gold”. Much of the credit for Canada’s international repute goes to Donald Ziraldo. He draws on his insights and experience to bring to life what is the secret and science to fully express the regional terroir in the icewine. In 1975, Ziraldo and his partner, Karl Kaiser, founded Inniskillin Wines and dedicated themselves to producing high quality estate-bottled wines. Ziraldo subsequently founded the Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA), a Canadian wine classification system. In 2007, Ziraldo and Kaiser published their book “Icewine: Extreme Winemaking”.
