Wolf Blass
Wolf Blass is a wine producer based in the Barossa Valley with facilities and vineyards all over South Australia. It makes a wide variety of wine at a range of price points and is one of the largest Australian producers by volume. It is best known for the popular red grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, but makes wine across all styles and from a multitude of varieties. The company was founded in 1966 in Barossa by German-born Wolfgang Franz Otto Blass. The wine labels are color-coordinated by pricing tier, with yellow being the value range and platinum reserved exclusively for single-vineyard bottlings. The inaugural release of the platinum range was a 1998 Shiraz, which went on to be named Best Shiraz in the World at the 2002 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
