Description:
This wine was created in the late 80s from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Gaglioppo. It immediately became one of the company's premier wines and a symbol of Calabria, which was just beginning to open up to the international market. We are very fond of its fancy name, evoking complexity and gravity on one hand while suggesting lightness and spontaneity on the other: a link between two opposites that best represents our wine-making philosophy.
Winery:
The Librandi winery works with 230 hectares of vineyards around the Ciro’s region on the south coast of Calabria. It is the biggest and the most famous winery of the region. Although the company was founded in 1950, the family has been working with wine for centuries, steeped in a love of tradition. The Librandi brothers also work closely with consultants and academics studying local varieties, clones and vineyard density.
Wine Making:
Fermentation in thermo-conditioned stainless steel, with a 5 days maceration. Aging in wood, with 12 months in Allier barriques and an additional bottle ageing of 6 months.

Floral
Leather
Red Fruit
