Legacy Peak Vineyard is located at an altitude of 1246m, in the beautiful scenic area of the Xixia King Tombs (Ningxia Province), and is one of the very few vineyards in China with vines over 18 years old. The vineyard is composed of 17 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 3 acres of Merlot and 2 acres of Chardonnay, all planted by Liu Hai’s father in 1997. In 2010, Liu Hai took over the estate with the ambition to make the best wine of Ningxia. In 2014, the first launched item ‘Legacy Peak Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot 2011’ was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the CWSA- China Wine & Spirits Awards, followed by the 2012 vintage taking the Silver Medal from DWWA 2015- Decanter World Wine Awards. ‘Legacy Peak Cabernet Sauvignon 2012’ has also been selected for the Bettane + Desseauve Yearly Wine Guide 2016.
