Chateau Loudenne Bordeaux Blanc 2019 is a white blend of 77% Sauvignon Blanc and 23% Sémillon, produced in the Médoc region. The vineyard, situated on the Gironde riverbank, features clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils over limestone subsoil.
Grapes are hand-harvested in early morning and carefully sorted. Whole bunches undergo gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs in 75% French oak barrels and 25% casks, without malolactic fermentation. The wine ages for 16 months in French oak.
This Bordeaux Blanc exhibits a pale yellow color with green tints. It offers citrus aromas, balanced with notes of peach, sultanas, and nuts. A subtle salinity, imparted by estuary mists, adds complexity. The wine shows good aging potential.
2019 marked the estate's first year of organic conversion. Despite challenging weather, the terroir provided balance, resulting in grapes with optimal sugar-acid ratios and aromatic potential.

Chateau Loudenne
Built in the 17th century, Château Loudenne is one of the oldest Crus Bourgeois properties. Its history is inextricably linked with the British wine trade. Château Loudenne had many owners until 1875 when it was sold to two English brothers, Walter and Alfred Gilbey. The Gilbeys were influential wine and spirit merchants in London and producers of the gin of the same name. The wines of Loudenne prospered in the British trade and even survived two world wars. In March of 2000, the Château was bought by the Lafragette family who had established their reputation in the Cognac industry. In 2013, the estate was purchased by the Moutai group from the Guizhou province in southern China.
